Edward “Ted” Finch is a shareholder in the Mass Torts and Toxic Torts Practice Groups in the Philadelphia office of Lavin O’Neil Ricci Cedrone & DiSipio. In his practice, he defends Mass Tort and Toxic Tort claims against major automobile manufacturers and manufacturers of wire and cable, valves, electrical equipment, appliances, heating and air conditioning, locomotives and various suppliers of these products on a local, regional and national basis. He also serves as national coordinating counsel for toxic torts matters for a Fortune 500 communications company.

As a trial attorney, Mr. Finch has defended many cases in state and federal courts throughout the mid-Atlantic region and has supervised cases throughout the United States. He has conducted arbitrations, mediations and settlement conferences and has successfully argued before judges in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Examples of Mr. Finch’s experience include:

  • Prepared and successfully argued numerous complex motions in Pennsylvania and New Jersey courts
  • Successfully arbitrated cases in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Mr. Finch earned his Juris Doctor from Widener University School of Law – Wilmington, Delaware, and obtained undergraduate degrees in economics and political science from the University of Massachusetts.

He is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania state courts and the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the Defense Research Institute.

Within the Lavin firm, Mr. Finch was elected shareholder in 2007. He has served on the firm’s Hiring Committee since 2002 and has also served as a mentor in the firm’s formal mentoring program. Mr. Finch was invited to attend and successfully completed the International Association of Defense Counsel’s Trial Academy at Stanford University School of Law.

Personal

In his spare time, Mr. Finch enjoys spending time with his family including his two young children. He also enjoys watching sports, especially baseball and football, is a crazed Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan and volunteers as a coach for youth soccer and softball.
